ANNE FRASER

Anne Fraser passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026.

She was predeceased by her husband Hugh, son William (Bill) and brother Bohdan (Bud), and remembered by children, Lesley, John (Jack), Carol, Janine and Bud; Bill's wife Heather MacKenzie, who had a special relationship with Anne; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Barwinsky, and sister-in-law Alexis Pidlisecky.

Anne was born January 22 1927 to Wasyl and Paraska Pidlisecky in Roshniv, Poland (later Ukraine). The family settled in Bienfait, SK in 1930, with Anne graduating from nursing school in Saskatoon in 1948. She married Hugh on June 7 1949, and they subsequently moved to Winnipeg, where she and Hugh lovingly raised their children with boundless energy, care and many activities such as baseball, camping and trips to their cottage at Victoria Beach. Over the years, Anne created wonderful pottery, and she graced us with her singing - whether at home or entertaining seniors with Hugh, friends, Anne and Gord Gooding and others. She also carried on her mother's tradition of cooking traditional Ukrainian dishes like pyrohy and holubtsy, preparing countless family meals and Christmas dinners, many together with the Barwinsky family. Her kindness, wisdom and generosity will live on in all who knew her.
