It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Waldemera “Wally" Joanne Goshulak on June 4, 2026 at the age of 92. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Wally was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Peter. Her parents Louis and Annie Laskowich (nee Musey); and her siblings Audre Skura (Harry), Herman Laskowich (Stella) and Ezydor Laskowich (Laurele).
Wally is lovingly remembered by her children, Theresa (Ken), Judi (Dawn), Howard, and Michele (Jaime). She was a proud loving grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wally was born on September 12, 1933 in Norquay, Saskatchewan. In 1950, she moved with her family to Dauphin, Manitoba where she soon met Peter. They married in 1953, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community.
In 1968, they settled in Brandon where they continued to raise their four children.
Wally was a devoted Catholic and a lifelong member of the Catholic Women's League. She enjoyed a career in retail; most significantly her many devoted years working at Eaton's.
Wally enjoyed a variety of creative crafts. She made many clothes for her children and quilts for her grandchildren. She met and made many friends while participating in weekly golfing and curling. Wally's homemade cinnamon buns and traditional Ukrainian dishes will be missed by her family. Wally especially treasured summers spent at their cottage at Clear Lake, creating many lifelong memories with family and friends.
In later years, she found great enjoyment in the companionship and laughter of the Red Hatters/Crown Jewels, always valuing the friendships she made along the way.
Wally and Peter enjoyed many happy retirement years. They spent winters in Arizona and Osoyoos, and travelled throughout North America and Europe. Above all, Wally will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, 327 4th Street in Brandon, MB, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 1:30 pm. with Father John Okosun officiating. A private family interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Caplan and the staff at Dinsdale Personal Care Home for their unwavering care, support and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wally's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
