MARGARET HELEN CASLAKE
Margaret, our beloved mom passed away peacefully at the age of 97 years on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St Boniface Hospital.
She is lovingly remembered by her son Barry, daughters Laura (RJ), Karen (Dan), grandchildren, Crystal (Dave) and Amber (Jai), Shannon (Guy) and Christopher (Mandy), Warren (Omni) and Michael (Katelynn), many great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild as well as many relatives and friends.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Lawerence (Casey) of 43 years. Mom was predeceased by son Randy Allan, daughter Sheri Marie, mother Lillian, father Cyril, brother Ormond, sister-in-law Irene, and sisters Mabel, Mary, brother-in-law Lucien and Cousin Eileen.
Mom was a pillar of strength and an inspiration to all of us. Mom leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. Mom was the center and heart of our family. She was a stay-at-home mom raising five children, managing the home and garden and all our activities while Dad worked. With her nurturing nature, always sharing her love of cooking and baking. Mom sewed and crochet hats and scarves for all of us. Mom loved travelling, camping, and fishing alongside Dad and family.
Mom was a wonderful storyteller, sharing her memories and humorous moments. She loved showing all the pictures of the past and had stories to tell of family and friends that went along with them.
Mom always said, “Love the people God gave you, someday he will take them away!”
A private Celebration of Life will be held.
We want to thank Dr. Hazel, Sam, Charlene, and Rick and all the other nurses and aides that helped our mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane society or Canadian Mental Health Association.
