PEGGY DORIS JOAN MANSOFF
Peggy was born October 16, 1932 in Christchurch, Hants England. She was the first child born to Percy and Ivy Harris.
Peggy grew up going to school during the Second World War. Several stories about those years growing up were strained and this was the time she realized how stubborn a person she was. Peggy decided on a career in nursing and achieved certificates in registered nursing as well as mental health nursing, later attaining a certificate in midwifery. All her nursing certificates were obtained through the General Nursing Council for England and Wales.
Peggy immigrated to Canada in the 1960s where she worked at several health care facilities as an RN and RPN. After making the move to Brandon she began working at the Brandon Mental Hospital, Assiniboine Centre and later became the administrator at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home, a position she held for 19 years. It was when she was in Brandon she met the love of her life, William. Peggy and William were married March 8, 1969 in Brandon. Peggy loved Tai Chi, was a devoted member of St. Matthew’s Cathedral for several years, was member of both the Quota and Toastmistresses and had a keen interest in cars and motorcycles. Together, William and Peggy enjoyed hunting and fishing as a past time.
Peggy is survived by her sisters, Ann and Wendy; stepdaughter Linda; grandsons, Conrad and Tyler; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews from Canada and England; as well as great-nieces and nephews. Her great-great nephew Cayden Cross was the apple of her eye. She will be lovingly remembered by her Hobb’s Manor family, especially her best friend Pat Preston.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband William; parents, Percy and Ivy Harris; mother and father-in-law, Miriam and Fred Mansoff; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law.
A memorial service for Peggy will be held at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, 403 13th Street, Brandon, on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
