It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leona Fonseca on June 23, 2026.
Born in Winnipeg, Leona built a life centred on love, laughter, family, and friendship. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of over 50 years, Stephen; daughters, Erin (Jay) and Kelsey (Dan); grandchildren, Brixton, Jonas, Parker, Isla, and Max; sisters, Linda (Phil) and Maureen (Courtney); brothers, Bob (Jan) and Louie; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Family was at the heart of everything Leona did. She was a devoted wife, supportive sister, proud mother, and treasured grandma whose love, encouragement, and generous spirit shaped countless memories. She showed her care through everyday acts of kindness, especially her cooking, always making sure everyone felt welcome and well fed. Her warmth and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
The family thanks everyone for their love, support, and condolences during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
