RUSSELL HOOD

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Russell Hood passed away peacefully and was reunited with the love of his life, Joy Hood, who predeceased him by one year.

Born in Sydney, Australia, Russ and Joy embarked on a great adventure, leaving with their six month old son, David, and headed to Canada. They arrived in Vancouver before making their way to their new home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Here, they built a life filled with family, friendship, and community.

Russ enjoyed a distinguished career with Underwood McLellan Associates. His work contributed to many important infrastructure projects throughout Winnipeg leaving a lasting impact on the city he proudly called home.

Russ had a lifelong passion for hockey and football. Both he and Joy treasured the many friendships they made over the years.

Russ will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivary Blvd.
