It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Charles Holowinski on Wednesday June 3, 2026. He is pre-deceased by his father Charles Sr. and mother Margaret and is survived by his brother Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory many friends and their children who knew him as Uncle Charlie.
Charlie was a happy soul who lived life exactly as he wanted to. Born and raised in East Kildonan, he was an avid motorcycle enthusiast in his youth. He spent much of his life in East St. Paul enjoying life on the Red River and the boating community. He gained notoriety for walking Henderson Highway with his neighbors and friends each morning for 30 years. Charlie always had a wave for everyone who passed by.
Charlie started Apple Auto Sales in the 70s running a used car lot off Main Street. Leading into retirement he changed course as Mr. Streamer supplying other car businesses in Winnipeg with flags and banners.
Charlie was always at the hub of social activity and could be found any afternoon enjoying a beverage at the Norvilla, Curtis or Legion 215. He made so many friends and will be missed by those who were fortunate to have him as a friend.
