Peacefully, surrounded by family and extended family, Herbert sadly passed away June 23, 2026, at the age of 90.
Herbert will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Katherine Chikako of 58 years; son, Glen and daughter, Sheri (Allan); grandchildren, Alex and Avery; brothers-in-law, Larry Hinatsu and Bob Peacock; many nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Thank you to the compassionate nursing staff and health-care aides at Concordia Hospital Unit N1 North and the Palliative Care team.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Japanese Cultural Association of Manitoba, located at 180 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 2J9.
At Herbert’s request no formal funeral service will be held.
