ROSE-ANNE (ANNE) PAPADOPOULOS
In Loving Memory of Rose-Anne “Anne” Papadopoulos (nee Mulders) Rose-Anne Mulders Papadopoulos, born Rose-Anne Mulders and known to most as Anne (or ‘San’ to family) passed away on April 21, 2026. A Celebration of Life was held on June 14, 2026.
Born on September 7, 1959, in Ottawa, Ontario, she spent her childhood in the Northwest Territories before building her adult life and community in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Anne was a deeply compassionate counselor whose life’s work centered on helping others heal. She touched countless lives through her wisdom, empathy and generosity, always offering comfort to those to those navigating grief, trauma and hardship.
Her kindness extended not only to people but also to the animals she loved. Over the years, she adopted many rescue dogs, often aging or special-needs animals others overlooked, despite being allergic to dogs. One of the many ways she gave back to her community was by offering free grief counseling to those mourning the loss of beloved pets - a reflection of the kindness and understanding that defined her character.
Beyond her professional life, Anne was a talented artist known for her beautiful stained-glass work. She brought creativity, colour, and warmth to those around her, and her artistic gifts reflected the same care and beauty she brought into her relationships. She was also a gourmet cook who delighted in creating elaborate meals with beautiful presentation, turning even ordinary gatherings into something memorable and special.
Anne will also be remembered for her unforgettable sense of humour. With a wickedly sharp wit, quick comebacks, and a gift for making people laugh when they needed it most, she was cherished by family, friends, colleagues and clients alike. Despite living with severe asthma from childhood, she faced life with determination, humour and inspiring resilience.
She is survived by her husband, Socrates Papadopoulos; her mother, Anne Mulders; her siblings, Robert Mulders, Kim Mulders, Charmaine Wilson, Linco Parker, and Annemieke Mulders; as well as extended family, dear friends, colleagues, and the many people and animals whose lives she changed. She was predeceased by her father, Gerard Mulders.
Anne’s legacy lives on in the people and animals she helped, the beauty she created, and the love and laughter she shared. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew her - likely with a few unforgettable one-liners.
“Those we love never truly leave us. They remain in the kindness they shared, the laughter they inspired, and the lives they touched.”
Loved deeply, remembered always and still making us smile.
