Grant, 67 years young, passed away peacefully on the evening of January 10, 2026 at Riverview Health Centre. He will be extremely missed by his spouse of five years Leslie, and his two sons, Kyle and Tyson.
Grant was born in Winnipeg to Lucille McLeod and Norman Kaufmann. In 1979 he met his first spouse Patricia Kaufmann (née Nelson), and was married in 1984. In 1991 they moved out of Winnipeg to the RM of Springfield onto an acreage to raise their two sons. Patricia passed away in 2019. In 2020 Grant met Leslie Snowdon, whose love and companionship brought happiness to his later years.
Grant was self employed and ran his own business buying, fixing, operating, and selling vehicles and heavy equipment. He was an exceptional handyman and there was no project he wouldn't tackle himself. He enjoyed the rural lifestyle, spending many years raising animals at his hobby farm and taking his sons fishing. He loved working on classic cars and reminisced on his white 1978 Corvette, which won multiple car show awards. Later in life, as he transitioned into retirement, he began travelling with Leslie and loved boasting about their adventures together.
A heartfelt appreciation would like to be extended by Grant's family to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for the exceptional care, compassion, and accommodation during his stay.
Grant is predeceased by his father Norman; brother Michael; and spouse Patricia. He is lovingly remembered by his spouse Leslie; his sons, Kyle and Tyson; mother Lucille; siblings (and spouses), Terry (Larry), Allan (Connie), Cindy (Glen), Paul, Lisa (Randy), Christine (Cy), Kim (Ian), and his many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on July 19, 2026 at the Riverview Community Centre, 90 Ashland Ave.
