PERLA ORTALIZA FUENTES VILLEGAS
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Perla Villegas on June 29, 2026, at the age of 80.
Perla is lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Virgilio; her children, Gerald (Jennifer), Giselle (Dallas), and Gregory (Michelle); and her cherished grandsons, Aiden and Logan; as well as several relatives.
She was predeceased by her father, Enrique Fuentes; her mother, Segunda; her elder brother, Manuel; and her younger brother, Nestor.
Born in Bani, Philippines, Perla immigrated to Winnipeg in the 1970s. A talented seamstress and devoted mother, she worked tirelessly alongside Virgilio to provide a life of opportunity for their family. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Norbert and Charleswood Care Homes.
A lamay (viewing) will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 7:30 PM at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. Timothy’s Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road. 10:30 AM Viewing, 10:50 AM Eulogy, 11:00 AM Service, 12:30 PM Interment at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, followed by a reception at St. Timothy’s.
