MARILYN WONG
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, Marilyn Wong passed away peacefully at the age of 83, after a brief battle with cancer.
During Marilyn's professional career as a talented piano teacher, she was also a proud member of the Manitoba Registered Music Teachers Association and her students benefited deeply from her kind, patient coaching style. Alongside her late husband, Bill, she also poured her energy into entrepreneurial endeavours, running both the Good Earth Restaurant and Empire Printers for several years.
A woman of few words, Marilyn expressed her deep love and care for others through her actions and her legendary baking. Her family and friends will always fondly remember her buttermilk scones and out-of-this-world carrot cake.
Marilyn is reunited with her beloved husband, Bill Wong, and is lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Garret Wong (Lisa) and Kyra (Rick Crilly) and grandchildren Nathan and Evan, and predeceased by her mother Dorothy Pang and father Lang Pang. Survived by her brother Bruce (Judy) and sister Cynthia and nephews and nieces.
A heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Sturgeon Creek 2 Retirement Residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Memorial Service 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026, at Bardal Funeral Home
The family requests that friends visit Marilyn Wong's tribute wall at www.bardal.ca where condolences, photos and stories may be placed for all to see.
