JO-ANN LYNN CAMIRE

September 24, 1950 – June 27, 2026

Sadly, we lost our dear Jo-Ann to an unexpected illness on June 27, 2026, after a brief stay at St. Boniface ICU.

Jo-Ann was the first-born daughter of Frank and Lauraine Bussell. She is survived by her husband Lloyd of 55 years, her sisters Fran (Hart), Leslie, Brother-in-laws David (Margaret), Douglas (Leah) and her niece Sherisse.

Jo was a kind, creative soul. She dedicated her life to her dogs, in particular Shadow. When Shadow passed Jo and Lloyd opened Shadow’s Mission, a program saving dogs. They have built over 425 dog houses for rescues.

Jo is missed by all.

Donations to her memory can be made to any animal rescue of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We were deeply saddened to learn of Jo's passing. She was the sweetest, kindest person, totally devoted to Lloyd and Shadow's Mission. She brought so much sunshine to the world in every conversation and interaction. The shared passion that was Shadow's Mission brought shelter to so many dogs, and the other things they made like dog steps, garden benches, etc... are now deeply treasured items and reminders to do good where we can. Her gentle spirit lives on in all those whose lives she touched, and I have no doubt she was greeted at the Rainbow Bridge by Shadow and so many other dogs whose lives she (and Lloyd) made so much better. She will be missed beyond what words can say. - Posted by: Susan Hurrell & Jacinth Labbe (friends through Shadow's Mission/Dog Rescue Community) on: Jul 31, 2026

  • Our deepest condolences to Lloyd and everyone. Tragic news to hear. We met Jo and Lloyd at a pet rescue fund raiser! Her creation of Shadows Mission was unique! A place were all helped or had a dog house built for their loved fur babies. We called Jo and Lloyd down for a surprise meeting at SMW Accounting and our gift back was to do their taxes for free. They were so very grateful. Also allowed Lloyd to go to skinner’s for his hotdog!! Jo you are probably surrounded and protecting our loved ones. You my friend will be missed always!! Lloyd I’m so sorry for your huge loss. RIP Jo - Posted by: Teresa Macumber (Friend) on: Jul 29, 2026

  • Jo always had a kind, supportive message to those who had lost a Pet and always an envelope with a donation of support for so many fundraisers. My own journey has been enriched by knowing both Jo and Lloyd. - Posted by: Jim Walker (Friend) on: Jul 25, 2026
