Betty passed peacefully in Edmonton on July 23, 2026, at age 78. Born in Winnipeg, Betty was a mezzo-soprano opera singer, performing in Graz, Austria, and Calgary before teaching voice students in Calgary and Lethbridge.
Survived by daughter Valerie (Rob) and granddaughter Charlotte; son Anton; brother Bart (Diana); and sister Barbara.
