With heavy hearts we announce that Angiolina has passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at Seven Oaks Hospital.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, including her children, Sandy May (Doug), Rob Grossi (Cheryl), and Gina Wiebe; her grandchildren, Vanessa, Angela (Trevor), Julie, Michael (Chelsea), and Stephanie (Rob); and her many extended family and friends in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Italy.
She is predeceased by her parents, Luigi and Giulia; her husband, Alberico; and her siblings, Evia, Ederice, Maria, Giovaninni, and Alberto.
Angiolina was born in Villalago, Italy. She married Alberico in 1958. They and their three-year-old daughter moved to Winnipeg in 1963 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a loving and caring mother to her three children and an attentive Nonna to her five beloved grandchildren. Everyone was always welcomed into her home, which was filled with comradery, kindness, love, and lots of food! There was always a seat at the table for everyone. She had a big heart and cared deeply for everyone she met.
Special thanks to all the home-care workers that were so attentive to her over the last few years - they became like family to her; and to all the health-care professionals who provided such compassionate care in her final weeks at both the Grace and Seven Oaks hospitals.
A service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.
