BRAD KAUK
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brad Kauk on July 24, 2026 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Dani and Kaylyn; his mother Linda; his brothers, Darren (Michelle) and Todd (Andrea); his nieces, Daelia and Amaris; his nephew Calder; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and his colleagues with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
Brad was a Transcona boy. With the exception of a few years working in Saskatchewan, he called Transcona home his entire life. He attended Westview Elementary School, John Gunn Junior High, and Transcona Collegiate, where he formed many lifelong friendships.
Sports played a significant role in Brad's younger years. He began playing soccer and hockey at the age of five, and as soon as the rink was flooded at Pirates Community Club, you could find him out on the ice. He continued to excel in both sports and later added football and BMX racing to his athletic pursuits. During high school, Brad participated in a variety of sports, earning the title of Athlete of the Year in Grade 12.
After graduating from high school, Brad continued his education at Red River Community College. He started working at Canadian Pacific Railway in 1998. It was there that he found his lifelong career.
Following in the footsteps of his father and uncle, Brad became deeply involved in union work. For 19 years, he served in a variety of roles with IBEW locals, devoting countless hours to advocating for his fellow members for fairness, respect and workplace safety. At the time of his passing, Brad served as Regional Chairman, CP Rail, Canada West. He was well respected for his wisdom, integrity and leadership.
Brad will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on his family, friends, and colleagues. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
As per Brad's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and support staff at HSC for the wonderful care they provided to Brad during his times there.
