With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Patsy after a year-long battle with injury. She passed in the West-Man Nursing Home with family at her side and cherished friends nearby.
Born and raised in Lena, Manitoba, Patsy married in 1958 and had six children with then husband Dale. Patsy spent most of her life in the Brandon area using her wonderful talent for making friends, who would come to know her affectionately as “Ma Betts”. It would be a rare moment indeed if you walked up to a group of people in Brandon and did not meet someone who knew “Ma Betts”... She was a friend to all, a loving mother, auntie, grandma and her most cherished title of GG. We will miss her but know she is at rest now and without pain.
She was predeceased by her mother Jean Bowles Pyper; her father David Pyper; her sister Elaine Shaw; and her beloved son Larry Betts. Patsy is survived by her son David Betts, wife Cindy and children, Rhys and Jenna; her daughter Bonny Campbell, husband Lance and children Cory, Clay, Jesse and Melissa, nine great-grandchildren; her grandson Jared Betts, son of Larry; her son Darryl Betts, wife Elizabeth and Darryl’s daughters, Shannon and Izabella; her daughter Shauna Betts, Jeremy and Shauna’s children, Darryl and Shelby and four great-grandchildren; her daughter Deanna ‘DeeDee” Betts, daughters, Morgan and Madison, and eight great-grandchildren; her sister Gail Holumn and her nieces and nephews, Alan, Heather, Sue, Travis and Tricia.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for friends and family. Love you “Ma”.
