Mary Ann Waldmann (née Brabant) passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at 96. Born in Winnipeg, she built a life marked by kindness, humour, and devotion to family. A nurse trained at St. Boniface Hospital, she later worked at Shaughnessy Hospital in Vancouver, where she met her husband, Dr. Hans Waldmann.
She loved bridge, cooking, reading, music—especially Cole Porter—and cherished her years on Vancouver Island and with the PEO Abbotsford chapter.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Claire (Gary) and Carol (Eric); her grandchildren; and her sisters, Joan and Lorraine. She was predeceased by her husband Hans, her sister Bette, and her brother George.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Vancouver. Donations to the BC SPCA are welcomed in her memory.
