HARVEY GOEHRING

1934 - 2026

Harvey Goehring passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Harvey was born on the family farm near Langenburg, Saskatchewan, to Anna Augustina (Annie) Goehring (née Fingas) and Franz Joseph (Joe) Goehring. Harvey was the middle of three siblings and was predeceased by his brothers, Orland and Brian. After graduating from high school in Langenburg, he earned a degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan.

Harvey began his career as an Agricultural Representative in Saskatchewan and Manitoba before joining Pioneer Grain Company, where he dedicated 34 years of service. He advanced to become Manager, Country Operations, overseeing the operation of 175 grain elevators across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Following his retirement from Pioneer Grain, Harvey continued to contribute to the agricultural industry through seven years of service with the Canadian Wheat Board and three years as Executive Director of the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists.

Harvey met the love of his life, Marion (née Hutchinson), at a Whirlaway Westerners square dance in Calgary. They were married on September 5, 1970, in Moosomin, Saskatchewan, and together built a life centered on family, faith, and community. They welcomed their son, Dale, and in 1973, Pioneer Grain relocated the family to Winnipeg, where they made their home for many years.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Harvey found great joy in spending time with his family. He especially cherished visits with his son Dale (Andrea) and his granddaughters (Cali and Lainey). Harvey was an avid golfer and curler and was an active volunteer with his church, Breezy Bend Country Club, Golf Manitoba, and Golf Canada. He also enjoyed traveling, particularly spending winters in Texas.

Harvey's dedication, generosity, and warm spirit touched many people throughout his career and community involvement.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
