It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Glen Wutke, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
He was predeceased by his parents, Emila and Henry Wutke; his sister Marlene (Frank) Lachowich; and brother Allan Wutke.
Gordon is survived by his wife Lucy of 49 years; daughter Hollie (Rob); and grandchildren, J.R. and Justin. He is also survived by his brother Vernon (Debra).
Gordon was born on September 29, 1951, in Gladstone, Manitoba. He grew up on a farm in Plumas, Manitoba. Gordon left Plumas to work in Winnipeg at Co-op Implements.
In 1976, Gordon met his love of his life, Lucy, and proceeded to get married.
In 1978, Gordon and Lucy decided to take a leap forward with entrepreneurship and purchased their first hotel in Tyndall, Manitoba. With much success, they took on an even bigger challenge and purchased the St. Pierre Hotel in 1986.
Gordon served on the board of directors for the Manitoba Hotel Association and went on to be the president from 1996 to 1998, where he provided his knowledge and leadership. During that time, he travelled all across Canada to many conventions to represent Manitoba.
All the years as hoteliers, they formed many friendships that they still have today.
After a semi-retirement, Gordon decided to take on some seasonal employment running agricultural equipment and being outdoors.
At an early age, he had a lifelong passion for being outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. During his hunting expeditions, he was always honoured to be able to secure the big game.
In 2009 and 2010, Gordon welcomed his two grandsons, J.R. and Justin, into this world, whom he embraced and had an unbreakable bond with. They had many years of going to the lake, swimming, boating, snowmobiling, quadding, hockey games, and celebrating all the special family events.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel.
