BARRY ALLEN
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Allen, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. Barry peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of July 30, 2026, at the age of 82.
Barry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elaine. He leaves behind his children, Karen (Rick) and Paul (Robin), as well as his cherished grandchildren, who will carry forward many fond memories of their father and grandfather.
Barry was, by most accounts, a quiet man, yet he had a remarkable charm that he could turn on exactly when needed, and somehow, more often than not, it worked.
Barry enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time at the lake, where he could often be found fishing and enjoying the peace and beauty of the outdoors. In his younger years, Barry was an avid bowler and enjoyed the friendships, competition, and good times that came with the sport.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Barry’s longtime friend, Ernie, for his many years of friendship. Their regular lunch outings were among Barry’s favourite times, although, knowing Dad, the family suspects Ernie may have spent much of those lunches being told what, when, where, and how things should be done. Ernie’s patience and friendship were truly appreciated - thank you!
We are also deeply grateful to the caring staff at Riverside Lions and Victoria Hospital for the compassion, kindness, and care they provided.
Barry will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends.
As per Barry’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barry’s memory to the MS Society of Canada.
