Measuring life by laughter and love, Joan Rose (Jesse) McIntyre's life was brimming with both before passing on July 20, 2026 at the age of 85.
Joan was born in Regina, SK on December 1, 1940. After moving to Winnipeg with her husband James and children, she continued to visit her nine siblings, their families, and the McIntyre side as often as possible. We'll all miss her so much.
Life was busy for Joan with a career, her husband, their five children, then seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She volunteered for years with the Lifetime Sports program for adults with disabilities at the Y, teaching swimming and life skills. Some of her children and grandchildren followed in her footsteps there.
Nothing made Joan happier than being free and in the wild and there was no such thing as a short walk or swim. She loved the times spent exploring forests and gardens and camping at Birds Hill with family and friends .
She loved us all fiercely and left us with so many cherished memories of laughing and singing together, being fantastically ridiculous, lighting us up with her warm smile and giving us the best, squishiest hugs.
