His first name meant King, but the North End of Winnipeg just lost one of its Princes. Roy was born and raised there, married Ollie there in 1960, and raised his family there. In 1969 he started the insurance brokerage company, Impala Agencies and through shear hard work, a fluency in Ukrainian and Polish and doing business at the client’s kitchen table, he made it into an extremely successful operation. After a try at politics, he formed a friendship with Duff Roblin and went on to manage his company Mertopol Security. From that, he went on to finish his working years as the Head of Security at Misericordia Hospital.
Roy’s next realm was at Elmhurst Golf Club with many of his closest friends, He was also in the official “Old Guys Group” for many years of the Platinum Jets Charity Tournament.
Ollie was right by his side when he passed. Roy is also survived by his daughter Angel (Julien), his son Casey (Shelly) and his grandsons, Cooper and Jesse. The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Middlechurch Home for their professional and personal care. Cremation has taken place, and a private family internment will be at a later date.
