After a lengthy battle with corticobasal syndrome, Ken passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 68 with family by his side.
Ken was born on February 14, 1958, in Gimli and was raised in Fraserwood, Manitoba. In his early 30s, he moved to Winnipeg where he spent the rest of his years. Even after Ken moved, he always enjoyed spending weekends at the farm. He had several jobs throughout his lifetime with most of his years spent farming, at Dominion Tanners and New Flyer.
Ken will be sadly missed by his wife Kathy; daughters, Kaylee (Ty), Kristin, and oldest daughter Stacey (Alfie). Ken is also survived by his mother Jean; and his sisters, Rose (Percy), Pat (Ed), and Chris (Martin); along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Walter.
Although the last eight months saw his disease progress rapidly, Ken never complained and fought hard to stay with us.
We would like to express our thanks to the staff at Poseidon Care Centre where
Ken spent his last four months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
Cremation has taken place, and a
private family interment will be held at a later date.
