David passed away suddenly on August 4, at the age of 63. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, his wife of almost 35 years, Jennifer, his sons, Erik (Melissa) and Karl and Ella - his beautiful new granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his infant son Kristjan, his mother and father Allan and Phyllis Olson, his in-laws, Bob and Gladys Gudmundson and his Amma Ella Olson.
In 1987, he met his wife Jennifer at the Islendingsdagurinn. They were married on August 24, 1991 and shared many great years together. They moved to Selkirk in 1993 and made it their home.
Dave started his 39 year career in the generator business in 1987. He worked at Pryme Power and Diesel, Cummins Western Canada and Pritchard Power Systems.
David’s most important role was being a dad to his boys. He was their biggest fan spending many years at the hockey rink or the baseball field, yearly camping trips at Rushing River and being a calm and constant presence in their lives.
He will be loved and missed forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk.
