BRENDA LILLIAN SHEARMAN

In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Brenda Lillian Shearman (née Swift), on July 29, 2026, at Burnaby Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Brenda was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on September 18, 1945 to Dean and Mildred Swift. She began her career with the Hudson's Bay Company, where she helped establish their early computer systems, before finding her calling in financial services. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career until her retirement.

Later in life, Brenda moved to Vancouver to be closer to her family. She became an active member of her church community, where she found great joy in meeting new people, building lasting friendships, and serving alongside others.

Brenda was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Clara and Jean, and her brother, Lee. She is survived by her sisters, Rae and Barb.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Jeff, and his wife, Jennifer; her daughter, Kathy, and her husband, Ivan; and her four cherished grandchildren, Grace, Spencer, Isabella, and Stefan. Brenda was immensely proud of her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. She also shared a special bond with her sister Barb, with whom she loved spending time and sharing many laughs.

Brenda will be remembered for her warm heart, kind spirit, generosity, and wonderful sense of humour. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Burnaby Hospital for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Brenda and her family during her final days.
