It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Edward McLean on August 15, 2026.
Don was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba to Ted and Bea McLean on October 2, 1944.
Don was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Bob and David, sister, Betty and his grandson, Cole. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite, daughter, Nikki (Oliver), son, Chris (Cindy), two grandsons, Craig (Chantelle), and Adam, granddaughter, Ashley, two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Oaklyn; also by his honorary son, Chad McDaniel of Phoenix, Arizona.
Don was a member of the Winnipeg Police Service for 33 years retiring in 1999 at the rank of Superintendent.
Don's health declined starting in 2020 causing him to live the last few years of his life in care, suffering from health issues and Dementia. We would like to thank the staff of Tuxedo Villa Extendicare for the excellent care they provided Don during his stay there. We always knew you were taking the best care of Don.
As Don requested, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private memorial for Don at a later time.
