CHARLES RAE

 HALDANE-WILSONE

July 25, 1932 - August 13, 2026

We are saddened to announce that on Thursday, August 13, 2026, our father, Charles Rae Haldane-Wilsone, passed away at the age of 94 years. Near the end of his long and fulfilling life, he would say to us, “I can’t believe all the things that I had the opportunity to do.” His story is amazing and he has left behind a strong legacy in his family that we will carry in our hearts, memories, and actions.

Rae was born to Charles Henry and Beatrice Violet (née McDougall-Bryant) in Manor, Saskatchewan on July 25, 1932.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of some 39 years, Kathleen Margaret (née Rudolph), who passed suddenly on August 22, 2007.

Survived by his children: Kristie (Mel) Levandoski, Rick (Patricia) Haldane-Wilsone, Amie Haldane-Wilsone, Anna (Antonio Jr.) Almonte; and his grandchildren: Austin (Taylor Ford) Levandoski, Reese Levandoski, Kaitlyn (Vasilis Schindle) Haldane-Wilsone, Jocelyn Haldane-Wilsone, Abigail Almonte, Andi Almonte, Liam Fifer, Emilee Fifer; and his only great-grandchild Everett Levandoski.

Dad was many things throughout his 94 years: a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, soldier, public servant, Mason, Shriner, hockey player, mentor, leader, and friend.

But above all, he was a man who showed up. He showed up for his family, for his community, for those he led, and for the organizations he believed in.

He lived fully, loved deeply, and left the world better than he found it.

We will miss him dearly, but his stories, values, and example will continue to guide us for generations to come.

"I can't believe all the things that I had the opportunity to do." Neither can we, Dad. And we're grateful we got to share them with you.

The family will be holding a private interment at the Glenwood-Souris Cemetery to place his ashes next to Kathy’s.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I first met Rae way back in the 70s playing hockey against his Regimental hockey team, his son Rick was their goalie and the little guy was good. I took Rae out in the hockey game and he was not happy, after the game he and I met off the ice and chatted, later that year I joined the Regiment he belonged too. Rae was an awesome guy, my last Terrie and I enjoyed all our visits with Rae and Kathy. In the early 1990s I was looking for a change and again chatted with Rae about the Masons, I became a Mason in Gateway Lodge in April of 1994 and the rest was history. Rae was a great mentor and friend. Rae you will be missed by Terrie and I, we know you have linked up with Kathy. You will be remembered by me as a mentor, friend and hockey buddy. R.I.P. I will join up with you and Kathy again one day in the future. We have the watch my brother and fellow Shriner, Soldier. - Posted by: Kevin Davis (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2026

  • Back when I worked in the Ambulance dispatch office at the Public Safety building on Princess St. Rae was one of the technicians that came out to maintain and fix communication equipment. We got along great and when there was an issue I was always happy to see him arrive to fix the problem. I had confidence that all would be well in short order. We had many great conversations while he performed his duties. You lived a good long life Rae. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Rod Giese (past co-worker) on: Aug 22, 2026
