DENIS JOSEPH BOISSONNEAULT

Denis Joseph Boissonneault was better known to us as Dad, G-pa and to many others simply as Mr. B. He was 84 years old when he peacefully passed on August 13, 2026. If his life could be summed up in one word, it would be family. Denis leaves behind his beloved wife Denise (née Rémillard) of 61 years; his boys, Roland (Cara), Raymond (Louise), and Gilles (Carrie-Anne); and his daughter Lise. He was most proud of his grandchildren, Eric (Natalie), Colin (Catherine), Sidney, Zacharie, Sara, Amelie, Bodin, Danika, Simeon and Mimi and his great-grandchildren, Myla and Emma. In his final days, Denis would pridefully take any opportunity to brag about his family.

Throughout the course of his life there were good days, difficult days and a few ridiculous days we will never forget. There were wins, losses, discussions, arguments and inside jokes that often went over his head. These countless moments that seemed insignificant at the time are the things that we will remember most. Dad was certainly known as someone who had very strong opinions about everything yet somehow always managed to leave an impression on those who listened. He was also someone who loved to laugh with his grandkids by greeting them with "Howdy Doody".

Denis was very proud of his construction business, CB & Sons, which allowed him to work alongside Denise. It afforded him the opportunity to work for himself and to be able to teach his boys the skills he valued most. Throughout his working life, he employed and taught not only his immediate family but many others; cousins, nephews and countless friends. When someone needed work, Denis was happy to provide that opportunity. His craftmanship lives on in many places, particularly in our family homes and especially in our beloved cottage at Chadwick Lake.

We ask that you remember Denis in the way he impacted you. Think of him when you are swinging a hammer, playing hockey or golf, sitting down for a game of blackjack and watching the Jets which he did faithfully with Denise. And when he crosses your mind, instead of thinking "I miss him" say "I’m lucky I knew him". I know that he is saying the same thing of you. We are blessed to have had Denis in our lives.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt and sincere appreciation to Dr. Kevin Coates and Dr. Al Buchel for their unwavering care, compassion and support throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

A funeral service will be held at la paroisse Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface at 180 de la Cathédrale Ave. in Winnipeg, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.

Repose en paix Dad.

Jusqu’à ce que nous nous revoyions.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Denis was a gentleman I admired for his love of family, his work ethic, his honesty and his great sense of humour. To this day, I repeat expressions he used while I worked with him one summer. He made the world a better place and I will miss him. My sympathies to Denise and all his family. - Posted by: Wayne Selby (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2026
