ADAM FERMAN

Peacefully, in the company of his family, Adam went to join the Lord, his beloved Bernice, and all his relatives who were waiting to welcome him home. Adam leaves to mourn his daughter Cathy (Brian), grandson Casey (Elisabeth), great granddaughters Selah and Naomie; granddaughter Alexandra (Eldon), great grandson Dax Adam. Also, mourning his passing is his son David (Patrizia). Adam is survived by his sister, Carol, sister-in -law Sophie, nephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed by many relatives in Toronto and across North America, and his special friend, Donna.

Adam was born during the year of the first televised NHL game. If you ever heard him tell a story, you would know he did not have a TV growing up, but he was a born sports fan! He was, at various times during his formative years at St. John’s High School, and at Miles Macdonell, a bootlegger, a grocery stock boy, all-sports participant, an apprentice to his father’s carpentry trade, a cement finisher, and occasionally a student. One St. John’s student caught his eye and added choir and Catholic mass into his rotation. Bernice was a track star with a lovely singing voice. If Adam wanted to impress, he would have to sing… not only in the school choir but the church choir, too.

The undercurrent that runs through Adam’s life is his Ukrainian Catholic faith. The faith that Bernice brought to his life, that he instills into his family line continues to bear fruit.

The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Boniface Hospital Emergency Department and the ICU staff, as well as St. Anne UCC’s Fr. Y. Buduykevych for their kindness and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St. Boniface Hospital or St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church.
