It is with the heaviest of hearts and deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of David Frederick Hrynkow, who lost his courageous battle with a rare and aggressive cancer on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
David was born on October 4, 1964, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to his loving parents, George and Violet Hrynkow. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba in 1990.
David will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 25 years, Audrey Saxton; his sister, Gina Fulawka; his brother-in-law, Allan Saxton of Acme, AB; Andrew (Tami) Saxton of Saskatoon, SK; Alvin (Lorie Raines) Saxton of Calgary, AB; and sister-in-law Alena Saxton of Beechy, SK. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends whose lives he touched along the way.
David was predeceased by his parents, George and Violet Hrynkow; his in-laws, Alfred and Alena Saxton; and brothers-in-law, Alfred Saxton and Arthur Saxton.
David will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of sports and travel, his dedication to the things he cared about, and most of all, the friendships and connections he made throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research or a local cancer society in David's memory.
Rest peacefully, David. You will be deeply missed and forever remember
