BRIAN EDWARD SMITH
It is with unimaginable sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Brian Edward Smith on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife Sylvia; incredible children Jill and Jeffrey; adored grandchildren, Jordan (fiancé Victoria Landygo), Dylan (Avery Bond), Nicholas, and Isabella; brother-in-law Ted; as well as many family members and friends.
Brian was predeceased by his brother George Robert; parents William and Margaret Smith; in-laws Fred and Ann Stefiuk; and sister-in-law Barbara Stefiuk.
Born in Winnipeg on May 26, 1939, Brian enjoyed a lifelong career as a master printer and owner of a print shop. He was a humble and kind person who possessed many talents. As well as being an avid hunter and fisherman, Brian was a stock car racer, golfer, and water-skiing champion. Brian was a huge sports fan and hockey player, but most of all he loved supporting and being with family. Brian earned the love and respect from all those that came to know him, he will be greatly missed.
The family sends special thanks to the staff on the 3rd floor of Grace Hospital.
Cremation has taken place followed by a private family celebration of life.
