It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brian on August 19, 2026 at the age of 77.
Brian is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Munro (Alex) and Sarah Carr (David), cherished granddaughters, Isabelle, Florence, Norah and Elodie, sisters, Ann-Marie and Marilyn, and many other family members and dear friends. Brian was predeceased by his wife Lydia, mom Margaret, father-in-law James, mother-in-law Louise and brothers-in-law John and Wendell.
Born in Belleville, Brian spent his childhood in southern Ontario before his career in the insurance industry led him to Winnipeg, where he met and married Lydia and they started their lives together. Brian's interests ranged from sports and music to giving back to his community, including his many years with the Rotary Club of Winnipeg West. For almost 50 years, Brian and Lydia spent their summers with family and friends at Wildcat Island on Lake of the Woods, and later in life they enjoyed their winters in Florida with new friends.
Brian was known for his commitment to and unwavering support of those in his life. He was the best husband, Dad and Papa and he will be deeply missed each and every day.
Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through the Winnipeg Foundation to the Curling for Life Endowment Fund or Winnipeg West Rotary Club Golden Rainbow Fund.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Brian's medical team, including the team at the Grace Hospital, for their exceptional care.

Had the privilege of getting to known Brian, through the annual Chicken Fest Event of Winnipeg West Rotary Club. Remember his “crusty” demeanor in running the take-out service for many years.
