It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darren on August 23, 2026, age 39 years. Beloved husband of Aprilyn in the Philippines, son of Agapito "Pete" and Maryline Sangalang, brother of Michael (Sarah), his sister, Lotis (Tony) Vailas, his most loved nieces and nephews, Atlas, Veda, Kyrie, and Eunice Vailas, Gwendalyn and Raphael Sangalang. Darren also leaves many aunties and uncles, cousins and friends around the globe.
Darren would always bring light into the room and will be remembered for his smile and engaging discussion with all who knew him; he will be missed.
Lamay will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and Prayers will be said on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. all at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Petrus Hall, 2624 Inkster Blvd. Monsignor Enrique Samson Jr. presiding.
Interment in the Philippines at a later date.
