In Loving Memory
It is with deep sadness and great love that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Finnigan, who died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 86. After a long and meaningful life, Robert went home to be with his Saviour.
Bob lived most of his life in Winnipeg and spent his 86 years leaving a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know him. He was, above all, a gentle and sweet man who loved people. He was always searching out someone to talk to, ready to share a story, have a conversation, or simply make someone smile.
He was one of the founding members of Northdale Mennonite Fellowship Church, now Jubilee Mennonite Church, and served there faithfully for many years. His church family was an important part of the life he shared with those around him.
He was fiercely loyal to his family. For 59 years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Elisabeth, who cared for him until the very end. Bob was a devoted husband and father to Conroy (Danielle), Bob (Jeannie), Dan (Linda), and Rhonda Kehler (Victor). He adored his ten grandchildren - Emily, William (Hannah), Michael, Kayla, Maranda, Amber-Leigh, Jaycee, Orion, Skylar, and Lily - and they held a very special place in his heart.
Bob is also survived by his brother, Don (Dale), sister, Gail, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bob felt deeply for the people he loved. If one of his children or grandchildren was hurting, he hurt with them. Their joys were his joys, and their struggles became his concern. His love was steady, protective, and unconditional.
Some of his happiest memories were the simple ones: many hours spent walking and enjoying fires with friends at Birds Hill Park. He didn't need much to be happy. Good company, a conversation, a walk, a fire, and the people he loved.
Bob leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless stories, and a family who loved him dearly. He will be remembered not only for the things he did, but for the way he made people feel - loved, welcomed, listened to, and able to smile.
There will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to remember and celebrate his life.
He was deeply loved. He will be deeply missed. And he will never be forgotten.
