JANICE ANNE TAPLIN

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Jan on August 20, 2026 at the age of 69 at the Health Sciences Centre after a brief health complication.

Jan was predeceased by her loving parents, Ray and Elza Taplin and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that all played significant roles in her life.

She is survived by her sisters, Sandy Hallam (Stuart) and Judy Fordham (Murray); nieces, Lynn Flinta (Lyle), Melanie MacCarthy (Craig), Pamela Galatiuk (Danny), Sara Tory (Derri) and nephew David Hallam; great-nieces and nephews, Colby, Morgan, Hayden, Kierston, Lathen, Lochlan, and Tannum; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Parish in Winnipeg, MB (252 Dubuc Street) with an extended family interment to follow in Stonewall.

Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Jan may be made to a charity of one's choice.

A special thank you to the physicians and nurses of the high observation patient care unit at HSC for their compassionate care.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Jan was such a wonderful soul and I was truly shocked by this news as we just spoke beginning of Aug. She called me weekly after my surgery to see how I was doing. We would catch up and chat about all sorts of things from her nieces and nephews that she loved dearly to having drives at the Church to raise funds for causes to help others. Jan I will miss you, my Friend. I will see you again one day. ❤️ - Posted by: Kelly Brown (Friend) on: Sep 10, 2026

  • Our Deepest Condolences to all of Janice’s Family. Thinking of you all. She was always such a beautiful person inside and out. - Posted by: Roxann Goudy (Friend) on: Aug 31, 2026

  • Jan and I enjoyed little visits whenever she brought her vehicle to Stonewall for maintenance. She would always stop by the Hallmark Store where I worked and we would chat! Her Dad was my bus driver and her Mom was my Grade 1 and 2 teacher. Lots of memories with this family. I'm so sorry that the Taplin family is grieving the loss of someone so very special. - Posted by: Cheryl Dodd (Family friend) on: Aug 30, 2026
