It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of David Dirk Busser, aged 76, on August 26, 2026, at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
David was born in Winnipeg on November 29, 1949, to Dirk Hendrick Busser and Anne Alice Busser.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anne Alice Busser and Dirk Hendrick Busser, and his brother, Kenneth Herman Busser.
David will be lovingly remembered by his brother H. John Busser and sister-in-law Jane Busser; nieces, Cynthia and Bryan Tinling, Kristina Busser and Travis Jones, Carissa and Matt Gaudry; nephew Dirk and Gail Forminuk; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Quincy Tinling, Braydan and Ashton Lutz, Tabytha and Harrysan Jones, and DJ Forminuk.
David worked in security and took great pride in his work. He was especially passionate about darts and reading, and he cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
David had a love for travel and enjoyed visiting Mexico and destinations throughout the United States. One of his favourite ways to remember his adventures was by collecting pins from the places he visited. He was always looking forward to his next adventure and was never far from being prepared for the journey ahead.
David will be remembered for the memories he shared, the adventures he enjoyed, and the time he spent with the people who mattered most to him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his neighbour, Ron Miller, for always checking in on David, and to his good friend Dennis King for always being there for him. The family also wishes to sincerely thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for the care and compassion they provided during David’s short time there.
A funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm. A graveside burial will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, at 3:00 pm.
