It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Carson at the age of 87. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Sally, brothers, Frank, Bob, Fred and Ron, sister Shirley, and sisters-in-law, Joyce and Bunny.
Betty is survived by her children, Brent (Valerie) and Dedee, her sister Debbie (Doug), grandchildren, Cody (Rachel), Brenley, Riana, Katie (Shayne), Kaemin, many nieces and nephews, and her close friend Donna.
Betty's door was always open. She was everyone's Mom to her children's friends and loved them all. She was known to set an extra plate as they were part of the family. These memories are very much alive in the hearts of those children who are adults today.
Betty had a passion for creativity. She had her own style and looking her best was very important to her. Betty possessed many skillsets; sewing, knitting, crochet, baking, crafts and a flair for decorating her home that reflected her own style. Betty also loved Christmas. At that time of year, every room in her home was decorated top to bottom that was felt by everyone who walked into her home wrapped in warmth. She donated her decorations to Luther Personal Care Home to share with the residents to enjoy.
She spent many years volunteering with the Optimist Club where she made lifelong friends.
Our mother was a strong independent woman who forged her own life doing what she loved to do and she taught us the same. Our mother loved to live, laugh and love.
Our family would like to express gratitude to everyone for their support and sharing their memories that will forever live in our hearts.

Betty and I moved into the complex at 1084 Powers around the same time. We lived on the same floor, just a few apartments apart. We spent a lot of time together, having coffee, watching old movies and chatting. Betty was so proud of her grandkids and talked about them all the time. Betty was very hospitable and a great cook and baker. She loved to make food for everyone. I remember the lovely cakes she made everyone and anyone and the butter and pecan tarts she made especially for my grandson. My fondest memory if Betty is playing cards with all her girls, Norine, Stella, Pat, Donna and me. We played rummoli on Friday nights using her stash of pennies. There was lots of laughter, chatting and good snacks including Betty’s famous mulled wine. Betty was wonderfully unique. She will be missed but she will never be forgotten. - Posted by: Maria Aiello (Friend and Neighbour) on: Sep 14, 2026

My grandmother was the strongest person I’ve ever known. She went through so much but no matter what she went through she came out of it stronger and with a smile on her face. She had nothing negative to say about anyone or anything, there was nothing but positivity and love in her heart. My grandmother made the best baked goods, she would bake cakes and pastries for all of her friends and family to enjoy. I’ll forever remember the visits I’ve had with her and the conversations we had shared. My grandmother is a big reason why I am the man I am today and I will forever have her to thank. Rest in paradise Grams, I’ll forever love you more! - Posted by: Kaemin Di Lello (Grandson) on: Sep 03, 2026

I feel privileged to have been her Granddaughter, to have been taught so many life long skills like games, knitting etc I will never not hear her laugh, think about her when I get my nails done and any monumental life milestone in my future.
