Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Raymond was my father’s dear cousin. A constant in my life at an early age, I always regarded him as an uncle. My parents have had a deep appreciation for the close friendship of Raymond and Marguerite. Through association, I appreciate the time I spent with their sons Michel and Paul when I was young. As my godfather resides far away, Raymond was in fact my de facto godfather. In this role and for instance, he stood side by side with me for my First Communion. As a pharmacist, business owner, curious soul and all-around intellectual, Raymond was fascinating. I quite enjoyed hearing him in conversation with others. However, the conversations were certainly far from being one-sided. Raymond could work a room. Raymond had the enviable quality of taking keen interest in the lives and projects of all those around him. Independent of age, from the very young to those older than him, the respondent to Raymond’s line of questioning quickly sensed Raymond’s curiosity and interest. Equally amazing in this was Raymond’s memory as he could pick up where he left off in a conversation dating back quite some time. He is missed. My condolences to Marguerite, Michel and Paul. - Posted by: Richard Robert (son of Raymond's first cousin Roland Robert) on: Sep 08, 2026

  • I learned of Raymond's passing from my brother Gilles who learned of it from the Morier Facebook page. Raymond and Marguerite were close friends with my (deceased) parents Augustin & Thérèse Morier. Although our family moved to Quebec in the early 1970's, my parents always tried to keep contact with Raymond & Marguerite. I have a 1995 snapshot from my parents' photo album of Augustin, his brother Vincent and Raymond having an animated conversation over one of Raymond's model locomotives. Sincere condolences to Marguerite and their sons Paul & Michel and their families. Rolland Morier - Posted by: Rolland Morier (son of Marguerite's cousin Augustin Morier) on: Sep 04, 2026
