In Loving Memory
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Gordon Alexander Percival, better known to those who loved him as Ted, on August 24, 2026, at the age of 74.
Ted will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Linda, with whom he shared a life filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories. Ted spent the past 17 years with Linda by his side. They spent most of their winters travelling to Mexico where they enjoyed making friends and the warmer weather. Linda's love and support for Ted during his courageous battles over the years, never went unnoticed. Ted was loved deeply by Linda.
Ted was a devoted partner, loving father, and, perhaps most proudly, a cherished Papa. His greatest joy was his family, and the love and pride he had for them was evident in all that he did.
He leaves behind his two sons and their families: James and Jasmine, and their children Bridgid, Alexis, Mackenzie, and Eddie; and Matt and Jolene, and their children Emma, Avery, Evelyn, Jacqueline, and Audrey.
To his grandchildren, he was proudly known as Papa—a name that represented the special bond, love, and memories they shared with him. He treasured every moment with them and took great pride in watching them grow. The stories, laughter, outings, and moments they shared with their Papa will remain treasured for generations to come. Papa had many granddaughters, which made him so happy after having sons himself. After all these girls, Papa became not only the proud grandfather to his first and only grandson, but his grandson was given his name - Edward (the third).
Ted also cherished the friendships he built throughout his life. He especially enjoyed his regular gatherings with his group of coffee buddies, a tradition he consistently looked forward to and deeply valued. Ted shared meaningful relationships with many people, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to call him a friend. Among those friendships, Jim and Liz held a particularly special place in his heart, and their friendship was one he truly cherished.
Whether you knew him as Ted, Teddy, "Teddy bear carrying a purse", Dad, or Papa, he was known for his dedication and love for the things he did and people he loved.
Ted's love extended far beyond words. He was a cherished husband, father, Papa, family member, and friend who brought love, support and kindness to the lives of those around him.
Although he is no longer with us, Ted's memory will live on through his family and in the many lives he touched. His greatest legacy is the love he gave and the family he leaves behind.
A private family function is planned in celebration of Ted's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Papa.
Rest peacefully, Ted. Your family will always carry your love in their hearts.

Ted was one of my favourite customers at River and Osborne Safeway. He would brag about his sons brag about his grandchildren and most of all brag about a beautiful Linda . We often would chat about what was on the menu for supper or for lunch or whose birthday cake they were making or if they were heading over to one of the boys houses for a swim, I enjoyed seeing him on his daily visits to the Safeway always had kind words to sayI will miss him. I sure hope heaven has a lot of ice cream. Rest in peace my friend Ted, Jaylene from the river in Osborne Safeway. - Posted by: Jaylene Roche (He was a customer) on: Sep 09, 2026

I will missed my buddy! Ted and I go back over 50 years to 1st year at Queen’s University as roommates in Brockington House. Many, many fond and hysterical memories! As the years went on, we kept in touch on the phone or occasional visits. Since 2011, Ted became a client after he retired from the investment business. With the advent of FaceTime, we had weekly conversations and I could count on a lively discussion! Ted always had my back! I will really miss him! My condolences go out to Linda, Matt and Jamie! His passing leaves a big emptiness that only time will heal. Jim - Posted by: Jim Trueland (Friend) on: Sep 06, 2026
