Stuart was born on September 11, 1944 in the Winnipeg General Hospital. He passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026 with his daughter Sally and her partner Willow by his side.
Stuart was predeceased by his parents, Wilbur John MacDonald and Haidee MacDonald, his sister Valdine McLennen (nee MacDonald) and wife Aline MacDonald (nee Lepere). Stuart was widowed too early in life but on the day of what would be his 51st wedding anniversary, he and his wife Aline are united again.
Stuart was born a survivor. As a premature baby with cerebral palsy, he fought hard and never gave up. He built a life for himself on his own terms. Stuart was told he would never walk, he thought he’d never marry or have kids and he did all those things in spite of what people told him.
Stuart was proud of the life he had, he’d often share stories of his time in BC, seeing the Beatles, his honeymoon in Banff and a family trip to Las Vegas, as well as numerous visits to his favourite place - Grand Beach.
As an avid sports fan, Stuart would never miss a Bomber or Jets game. He always knew who was playing and when. Even during his last hours he listened to one last Bomber game and when it was done, he closed out almost 82 years of resilience.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
