HELEN MACKAY
Helen was born in Transcona on November 11, 1925. She was married in 1948 to Russ MacKay and moved to Victoria BC, where Russ was stationed with the Navy, except for two years in Churchill, Manitoba and one year in Transcona when Russ was in Korea. Helen lived in Victoria for over 40 years until Russ’s death in September 1993. She came back to Manitoba to be near her mother and sister. Sadly, her mom passed away in January 1994. She was also predeceased by her father in 1975, brothers, Albert in 1971, Earl in 1984 and Arnott in 2011 and sister Erma in 2024.
Helen belonged to Churchill Park United Church and Confidence Rebekah Lodge #40.
She is survived by her niece Wendy Zimmer (Bruce) and nephew Bill Murray (Terry), great-niece Mandy Zimmer (Berkley Fedorchuk) and their three daughters, Ava, Liv and Elise. Also, great-nephew Cory (Megan), their daughter Ayla and son Beckham.
I would like to thank the 4th floor staff at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion in Helen’s final days.
As per Helen’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held by family.

I am so sorry to hear about Helen’s passing. She was a dear friend and faithful Lodge member, continuing to be interested in Lodge activities even as she aged & could no longer attend meetings. Sorry to hear of my Aunt Helen’s (Haudi’s) passing. She was a lovely lady and dedicated to her lodge and church. She was predeceased by nephew David Sward (Helene).
