It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Gordon Stucky on September 2, 2026 in Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 91.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Inga; children, Todd (Cheryl), Janis (Neil), Jamie (Teresa), Kristofer; grandchildren, Shayle, Lexi, Reese (Lexie), Abigail (Jaydin), Kayla; great-granddaughter, Freya; and brother Ronnie (Carroll).
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Enilka; and siblings, Bertha, Marge, and Frank.
Dad was born on April 12, 1935 in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. Dad loved growing up on the farm with the chickens and his horses, he so adored, Flye and Mae. He always spoke of those days with a sparkle in his eye and a smile on his face. His favorite place.
In 1958, Dad met the love of his life, Inga, at the Arnes Hall. He was working with Red River Road Builders at the time. Once they married in 1961 they made their home in Winnipeg where Dad built a successful and respected trucking company, Stucky Trucking, which he owned and operated for over 65 years. His trucking journey began in his early twenties, hauling pulp before buying his first truck to haul gravel for Supercrete where his company has remained to this day. Dad had many wonderful employees over the years who helped make his company the success it is.
Dad is synonymous with all things trucks and cars ~ namely Fords, of which he's had at least 54 at last count. He spent his life in the shop - exactly how he wanted it (most days). No matter how busy he was in the shop, he always had time for his family. We were all so lucky to have Dad's shop quite literally in our backyard.
Once his grandchildren came along, they were the pride and joy of his life. He spent so much quality time with them, counting cars on the overpass, going for countless drives throughout Southern Manitoba and the Interlake, chauffeuring the kids all over the yard in the wagon with the riding lawnmower, building toboggan hills with the loader, and telling all his cherished and infamous stories.
You will be deeply missed. We love you forever.
A special thank you to the staff of River East Personal Care home for the exceptional care and compassion shown to our dad and our family.
Funeral service will take place at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg, MB on September 9, 2026 at 10:00 am.
