TERRY TWEDDELL

In Loving Memory

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Tweddell on September 2, 2026 at the age of 74 at Health Sciences Centre.

Terry was predeceased by her mother Marjorie (1986), her father Robert (1991) and her brother Murray (2025). She is survived by her nephew, Colby; her niece, Kendal (Dan); and her sister-in-law, Susan.

Terry was born in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. At a very early age, her family moved to Portage la Prairie, where she lived until she was 18, at which point she relocated to Winnipeg to pursue her career. She eventually settled in Charleswood, a community she loved for its familiar small‑town feel that reminded her of home.

Terry loved her work and took great pride in everything she did. She began working at Dunwoody & Co., where she met Tony Heim and his wife, Sue. In 1976, Tony opened his own practice, A.M. Heim, C.A., and Terry joined him, beginning a lifelong journey of dedication and commitment to work she truly loved.

When Tony retired, Dean Jenkyns took over the firm, which eventually became known as Jenkyns Smith CPA LLP. Terry continued her work with Dean, Donna, and their family, dedicating 35 years of her life to the firm and the people who became so important to her.

Jenkyns Smith CPA LLP was much more than a place of employment to Terry, it was her second home. She especially enjoyed working alongside Dean and her wonderful co-workers, many of whom became dear friends. She treasured the friendships, camaraderie, and connections she built with both her co-workers and the clients she came to know over the years.

Terry approached her work with dedication, determination, and pride. She always gave her best and found genuine fulfillment in being productive, capable, and of service to others. The people she worked with and the relationships she formed were an important part of her life, and she was deeply grateful for the many wonderful years and memories she made at Jenkyns Smith CPA LLP.

She had a wonderful love of fashion and an eye for the details that made life beautiful. She knew that getting dressed was more than simply choosing an outfit; it was a way to express herself, embrace life, and feel good. Her personal style was uniquely hers, and she carried it with confidence and grace.

She was also the person who never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She remembered the dates that mattered, sent the messages, made the calls, and made people feel remembered. Her thoughtfulness was one of the many quiet ways she showed her love.

A devoted animal rights advocate, she cared deeply about the welfare of animals and believed they deserved kindness, protection, and a voice. Her love for animals reflected the depth of her generous and compassionate heart.

Among the greatest joys in her life were her niece (Kendal Tweddell) and nephew (Colby Tweddell), whom she loved dearly. They held a very special place in her heart, and the love she had for them was unconditional and unwavering. The memories they shared will remain treasures for years to come.

She understood that happiness could often be found in the simple things in life: a good movie, a Winnipeg Jets game, a favorite outfit, time with people she loved, the companionship of her cats, a familiar routine, or a quiet moment of contentment. She didn't need grand things to make life meaningful.

She will be remembered for her loving heart, fierce independence, unwavering loyalty, distinctive sense of style, steadfast dedication, and her remarkable ability to make others feel seen, remembered, and cared for.

Though she is no longer with us, her love will live on in the people she touched, the animals she cared about, the traditions she cherished, and the countless little memories that will bring a smile long after the tears have fallen.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter.

In keeping with Terry’s wishes a small private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
