With profound love and gratitude for a beautiful life well lived, we share the passing of our mother, Lois Hopkinson.
Born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Lois moved to Winnipeg at a young age where she built a life rooted in family, faith and community.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry “Hap” Hopkinson; her parents, George and Ethel Harris; her brothers, Jack and Bill Harris; and her grandson Christopher.
Lois will be lovingly remembered by her children, Terry (Maureen), Ron (Janet), George (Cris), Rick (Laurie), and Val (Rob). Her grandchildren, Sarah (Rajat), Jonathan (Nicole), Todd (Heather), Ryan (Melanie), Lauren, Riley (Nicole), Justin and Brendon (Milica). Her greatg-grandchildren, Taylor, Priya, Rohan, Dixon, Avery, Madeline, Carter, Hunter, Mila, and Shea.
Mom was a member of Grey Street United Church since 1962. She was an avid swimmer for most of her life. She participated in aquatics at the YMCA on Kimberley Avenue and spent many years there teaching swimming lessons, encouraging confidence and joy. Mom was an ardent Blue Bomber fan who had season tickets for decades. Rarely did she ever miss a game!
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to honour her life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., at the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at River East Personal Care Home for their compassion and dedication.
