MAYA ELIZABETH BORSA

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our sweet Maya Elizabeth Borsa in a tragic car accident on September 6, 2026.

Maya was a beautiful and kind soul. She touched so many lives during her short time with us. Her smile could brighten the darkest of days and she simply made the world a better place. Maya worked her first job at Carlos Cucina, then later Deals for Dollars for three years and recently started working at Gimli Physiotherapy. She was a hard worker and always had a smile on her face. The Borsa's moved to their dream house/acreage in Sandy Hook, MB in 2014. Maya went to Winnipeg Beach School grades 1-8, then Gimli High School for grades 9-12, where she graduated in June. Her ambition was to be a vet. Maya made so many wonderful friends during her school years.

Maya loved the holidays and decorating for every occasion, the beach, her chickens who all had names, fishing with her dad, going to PoplarField, and eating dill pickles. lashes, nails, and hair were her passion.

Maya loved and cherished her twin brother and best friend Alexander. They did everything together. Maya also loved her dogs, Harley, Samson and Lilah, along with her precious cat Cleo (ROUSE). She loved her family and friends deeply and with her whole heart.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her parents, Tom and Bonnie Borsa; twin brother Alexander and older brother Brenden; Baba Nadia Hanesiak; Grandpa Nick Borsa; Uncle Bob and Aunty Cherie Borsa; Cousin Megan (Quinn) Ammeter; Uncle John (Teresa); and Von Hanesiak. Her boyfriend Keiran and life long girlfriends, Aurora, Grai, and Chloe. As well as many more Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins. Her cherished animals will miss her dearly.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Gimli Recreation Center (curling club side) lower level 45 Centennial Road, Gimli, Manitoba at 1:00 pm. All are welcome and in lieu of flowers please make a donation in Maya's memory to the Gimli Humane society.
