CORPORAL CHARLES (ALLAN) STEVENSON

Another warrior has been called home, as we announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend, Charles Allan Stevenson, on September 10, 2026, at St. Boniface Hospital.

Allan was born and attended school in Peguis, before he left to join the Canadian Airforce. Allan served in many locations throughout the world from 1966 until his retirement in 1995. He often phoned his mom while on tour around the world to let her know he was safe and missed her and the family.

Allan served with distinction and was proud to serve his country. Allan received many honours for his service; he was a proud Indigenous veteran and was called upon numerous times to participate in ceremonies and carry the Canadian and Peguis flag as a respected veteran. During one such ceremony he was saluted and acknowledged by the Honourable Harjit Sajjan, then Minister of National Defense.

After retiring Allan enjoyed meeting his good friends and fellow veterans for a good game of pool and darts. He was fondly remembered for visiting friends and being seen riding his bicycle around the community. After moving to Winnipeg, he would also bike around the Forks and other parks and trails. Allan also enjoyed his time by giving back to the community in volunteering at Agape Table.

Awaiting Allan to meet him is his loving parents, Annie (nee Sutherland) and Michael, brothers, Douglas and Gerald in infancy and David (Mannie), nephews, Fraser Stevenson and Terrance Moore, nieces, Gabrielle and Janice Stevenson, sister-in-law Mina and brother-in-law Zacc Moore.

His memory will be cherished by his brothers, Wilfred, Lloyd (Cecilia), William (Monica) and Earl (Clemene), and his sisters, Patricia, Marlene (Garry) and Sharon (Howard), sister-in-law Brenda Stevenson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family is grateful for the care provided to our brother by the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital.

We appreciate the kind words and support of the Peguis First Nation, family and community members - Miigwech.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Anglican Church in Peguis, internment at St. Peters Church.

Arrangements in care of Tillwell Aquamation & Funeral Home.
