YVONNE ELIZABETH DEW

(nee MCFARLANE)

August 6, 1951 - September 15, 2026

Yvonne Elizabeth Dew (née McFarlane) passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on August 6, 1951, in Peebles, Saskatchewan, Yvonne grew up with the prairie values of hard work, kindness, and community. As a young adult, she moved to Thompson, Manitoba, to be with her soon‑to‑be husband, Guy Dew, who had relocated earlier to begin work with the Inco Mining Company. Yvonne and Guy were married in May of 1971.

Together, they raised their sons, Troy and Shane in Thompson, where Yvonne embraced the rhythm of family life. She especially enjoyed summers spent fishing with Guy and the boys, evenings on the water, and the many memories made during their years in the North.

In 2000, Yvonne and Guy retired to the Swan River area, where they built their dream home and became hobby farmers. She treasured the quiet beauty of their land and the time they spent exploring the countryside together.

After Guy’s passing, Yvonne moved to Winnipeg, where she built a home backed by a small stretch of bush that offered her as much of the Swan River feel as she could find while living in the city. The deer that wandered through and greeted her brought comfort and familiarity, giving her a small piece of the rural life she had always loved.

Yvonne leaves behind her sons, Troy (Marianne) and Shane (Sandra); her grandchildren, Matthew (Miranda), Gabriel, Keziah, Dario, and Luca; her great‑grandchild Waylon; her siblings, Ellen (Vic), Bill (Dianne), Al (Cindy), and Shelley (Blaine); many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends whose friendships she deeply cherished.

She was predeceased by her husband, Guy Dew.

There will be no funeral service. An interment will take place in the spring in Windthorst, Saskatchewan, where Yvonne will be laid to rest with her husband, Guy.

Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
