NORMA RAE DUNCAN

(WATERS)

December 27, 1926 - September 13, 2026

On a peaceful morning the Lord came and took her home. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother Norma on September 13, 2026, at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 99.

Norma was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years Maurice, her parents, James and Annie Waters (Horner) and her siblings, David and Earl Waters.

Norma will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Sandra (Stan) Allen, her sons, David (Joan) Duncan and Craig (Jennifer) Duncan; grandchildren, James (Tanya) Allen, Christopher (Bailey) Allen, Miki-Rae (Allan) Hanslip and Meaghan Duncan. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Kate, Nicole, Austin, Jolie, Isla, Doug, Eva and Fox, and one precious great-great-grandchild Jasper. She was also survived by her sister-in-law Deanna Waters.

A special thank you to all the staff at River Ridge Assisted Living for their kind care over the past 18 years and to the Middlechurch Home for their compassionate care during her final months.

In lieu of flowers, please honour Norma with a donation to your favourite charity or to Elim Chappel or the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Please join us for a special memorial service to celebrate Norma’s life at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. An Informal reception will follow.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • We wish to express our condolences to Norma's Family on the loss of a kind wonderful Friend. Norma was the Secretary at Strathcona School when I was Principal 1974-1978. After we moved to Nova Scotia we exchanged Christmas cards, actually Norma's was a letter telling us what each child and grand child was doing. I missed receiving those letters the last few years, but my memories of her as a special person will remain. Harold & Trudy Bernard - Posted by: Harold Bernard (Friends) on: Oct 22, 2026

  • Heartfelt condolences to the entire Duncan family on the loss of a mother grandmother and great grandmother. David and I go back a long way in school, hockey, baseball, golf and a few summers at Sandy Hook. My first chef boyardee pizza was in the Duncans kitchen at 534 St. Anthony. Thank you Mrs. Duncan for the experience. Rest in Peace Mrs. Duncan............you will be missed. - Posted by: Mike Blundell (Friend) on: Sep 22, 2026

  • I first met Norma 13 years ago when I started driving for River Ridge Retirement. She was the first person I drove to an appointment. She always had a warm friendly smile and a hug. She was an exceptional lady. My sincere condolences to all the Duncan family. She will be missed. It was an honour knowing her. John - Posted by: John SOBCZAK (Friend) on: Sep 19, 2026
