Al awarded me my first contract when I set up my architectural practice. I will forever be indebted to him, for his generosity and faith he had placed in me. The relationship continued into a friendship. He would talk about Florence often and I was also fortunate to work with his wonderful daughter Alason as a client rep on the HSC Women's Hospital. So many great project stories to tell. I'm so sorry I can't be at the memorial today. Many architects don't get the recognition for the significant buildings they design. That was Al. He was humble and definitely the consummate gentleman, and didn't brag. His best work was the Millennium Library Downtown. A classic building that has touched the lives of so many people. Thanks to the family for being a memorable part of my life. - Posted by: Doug Corbett (Colleague) on: Sep 25, 2026

Al was the best boss you could ever wish for a true gentleman through and through. After retirement we always enjoyed golfing together. He will be missed, such a humble and caring man. Always a friend…Grant - Posted by: Grant Norman (Al was my director at Government Services) on: Sep 24, 2026
